My Hollow Head

A view of the world from my perspective.

Phyllis Diller (actress/comedienne)

No, the picture above is not me on a Saturday morning (but, I can see how you made that mistake). That is a picture of one of the funniest ladies ever to walk this great planet – the legendary Phyllis Diller – and she left us all for the great whoopie cushion in the sky today at the age of 95.

I grew up watching the wackiness of this phenomenal comedienne. She wore bizarre, outlandish outfits before Lady Gaga could barf up the words haute couture. She walked the fine line of inappropriate humor decades before Joan Rivers looked like an Asian cat. From Laugh In to Match Game to Hollywood Squares and even Scooby Doo, she was an icon in her industry as well as an inspiration to thousands of gay men who love to do drag.

The world will miss you, Phyllis. One request, if you see Milton Berle beyond the pearly gates tell him he’s an ass and RuPaul has a size 13 stiletto reserved to shove up his pee hole. He’ll understand why.
